For generating leads, you need two things viz. a lead magnet and a lead management tool. There are many ways to develop a lead magnet but we primarily use webinars (both live and recorded) to get leads. We use a email marketing software for lead management and promotions. Our two favorite tools are Anymeeting (for webinars) and SendFox (for lead management and promotions).✓ AnyMeetingWe hold free webinars using Anymeeting. Free live webinars give us leads for our paid training programs.Anymeeting is simple to use and provides powerful features. It is very well integrated with our email marketing tool SendFox. It has a good reporting engine and provides a few other useful integrations.✓ SendFoxSendFox is another one that we like. We use it for email marketing. It is also very easy to use and has got very good automation features. The email data from Anymeeting is automatically saved by SendFox, which triggers a series of autmated emails to promote our paid training programs. It provides good reports to understand which person has opened and clicked emails.

Every lead source is different and can be used in different ways.

✓ Facebook Ads
I have found that Facebook ads are great for gathering information. If you want to know the most potent approach, what visuals are effective, the best call to action, and more, then Facebook ads are great at giving you information about this.

That information can then be used elsewhere, like on your website or even in blog posts you are writing and distributing on other platforms like LinkedIn.

✓ LinkedIn Sales Navigator
I found that LinkedIn Sales Navigator is well worth the price tag, especially when coupled with some software to automate connection requests and messaging.

When I use the information gathered from Facebook ads that work, and direct it towards my website and LinkedIn messages, that tends to generate some great responses.

The right lead generation tool depends on your goals and budget.

✓ OptinMonster
Tools, like Optinmonster, are highly effective for marketers that manage multiple lead generation campaigns and want to get access to advanced features. The tool allows you to personalize your campaigns, segment audiences, and get all the necessary statistics.

✓ JotForm
But if you’re looking for some free solution to capture your leads’ emails, I recommend that you leverage the integration of JotForm, Mailchimp, and Slack (if you want to get instant notifications). It’ll take some time before you set up everything, but this solution will let you launch your first lead generation campaigns and evaluate whether you’re ready to scale.

As a blogger, my email list is my post prized possession. So I actively try to grow it and leverage it to make sales for my digital products.

Here are 2 tools that I use that make my job easier:

✓ Interact Quizzes
Quizzes are fun and easy ways to get cold leads to engage with you, and I use them further to segment my email list and gauge people’s interest in my content ideas. I use Interact to create my quizzes that I then display on my blog, run Facebook ads to promote on social media.

✓ Email courses with Mailerlite
Another lead generation tactic that I’ve been using is to create short email courses (or free online courses) on a particular topic that I know my audience is interested in. By providing such a high-value freebie, conversion rates have hit a new high for me (with my top course converting at nearly 40% in comparison with my other email opt-ins that convert at 2-5%.) I create and deliver my email courses with my ESP, Mailerlite, that offers a multitude of other lead generation pop-ups, forms, landing pages and so on.

✓ JotForm
If I could only recommend a single software, JotForm would be the one. Basically, it’s an online form builder that works not only as a lead generation tool, but also for any other forms you might need (surveys, registration forms, payments, etc). They give a generous amount of templates and themes so your form looks personally customized.

✓ JumpLead
Another top-notch software is JumpLead. It’s killer at lead generation as well as follow-up software. Jumplead has a great set of options including dynamic lead generation forms, landing pages, and overlays triggered by intent. This software also allows you to break your leads up into categories for better tracking.

✓ LeadPages
If you are just getting started and want to minimize your costs, LeadPages is a good option. It’s the cheapest platform we’ve used and offers more than some other platforms at a fraction of the cost. Don’t have time to learn all the ins and outs of a new software? Leadpages is a drag-and-drop builder which makes it very easy to learn and quickly start building.

✓ Google Ads
I prefer search ads over social media lead generation. Typically, leads acquired via search are a bit higher intent than those obtained on Facebook. I deal with a lot of clients that want a shorter nurturing period, and I’ve discovered PPC works best for this.

✓ Clickfunnels
I think building a landing page in with Click Funnels is an easier option than most out there. I think their templates are attractive and encourage people to fill out contact forms.

✓ Pardot
As a follow-up/nurturing system, Pardot is excellent. Building campaigns and nurturing leads is easier than some systems. I see lower spam reports and unsubscribe rates with it than, say. Hubspot.

✓ Real Estate Project Solutions
The best lead generation tool that I’m using is Real Estate Project Solutions. Their a Cold Calling Software that calls on your behalf, with a criteria of your choosing. Then after they have designated a lead, they then submit it over to another Software that I use, called Investorfuse. It’s a CRM that basically keeps all of your leads top of mind with you, whether it be via e-mail, text or phone call and then keep you organized on what steps you should take next with that lead. Next Steps include a simply follow-up, to make an offer, etc.

✓ Propstream
Lastly, the software called Propstream, has been a huge help, in choosing leads that fit the type of criteria that I’m looking for, as a well as an area that I prefer. Your able to choose from amounts of equity, to Non-Owner Occupied and even Owner Financed. The cost is relatively cheap, compared to the amount of time it would take to decipher this information yourself.

✓ ReferralCandy
There’s no doubt that it’s ReferralCandy. It helps eCommerce stores like ours to generate important leads and critical sales figures by offering customers discounts for referring new customers to us. The easy-to-use customizable referral program allows us to segment customers and gather data to monitor how our campaign is working. In addition, it’s easy to set up and the UI is a sure delight for busy managers like me. I started by taking the 30-day trial but eventually paid for the service because it’s highly reliable. You can check out more of ReferralCandy’s features here .

One of the key ingredients to any great lead generation is the opportunity for automation in multiple processes, and that’s one of the main reasons Hubspot is a powerful tool for driving leads. ✓ Hubspot
Hubspot is another tool that I prefer to use for lead generation; it is an inbound marketing tool useful to improve lead capture, traffic generation, and sales conversion. The reason to like this software is that by keeping all the data centralized, Hubspot helps to see more traffic and turn that traffic into more sale conversion. It also improves SEO with its keyword tool and shows the user which keywords already ranked and suggest others. Overall my experience with Hubspot has been a good one because it enabled my business to become slicker and more productive.

✓ Leadpages
The best tool we have in our lead generation arsenal is something called Leadpages. It helps us create landing pages without needing to worry about coding or integrating anything. It hooks up automatically to our mailing list provider and works well with WordPress.

We used the templates at first to make quick lead capture pages.. Sales funnels are important to our business model, and a good landing page is everything. Eventually we hired a developer on a contract basis to help us customize the pages, and Leadpages was great for that, too.

I’d definitely recommend it for any company that uses sales funnels as a large part of their strategy.

Rex Freiberger

CEO - Gadget Review

We use two main tools for lead generation: Pardot and HubSpot. Pardot is for managing and generating leads, HubSpot is a CRM that helps us manage engagement with those leads specifically.

✓ Pardot
Pardot includes a lot of automation, which is very useful for a small team. We’re able to automate lead scoring, place potential leads into the appropriate campaigns, and then monitor their activity. The suite of tools is pretty robust, but still easy to use. The cost is steep, though. So far it’s been worth it for us.

✓ Hubspot
HubSpot is just an all around great CRM. There’s a lot of automation there, too, and it does a better job of helping us monitor and optimize engagement in each of our sales channels.

Yash Sharma

I use Thrive Leads and Mailchimp for generating leads.

✓ Thrive Leads
I recommend using thrive leads to all WordPress users because it is very simple and has amazing features. Even a novice can easily create new lead forms using out-of-the-box attractive templates. It also provides many powerful options like A/B testing and multiple layouts.

✓ Mailchimp
I started using Mailchimp because it was a popular tool and it had a free plan for 2000 subscribers. Now, I am a paid customer and I have not switched the platform because of its powerful features. The most important feature is automation. I use it for sending automated mails to my subscribers and promote some eLearning products.

✓ Hubspot
HubSpot is usually one of the first names on people’s lips when lead gen tools are mentioned. It’s a bit of a Swiss army knife, combining sales, marketing, and customer relationship management all on a single platform. Its many features allow you to create automation workflows, email campaigns and manage social media accounts in addition to carrying out lead generation activity.

✓ Discover.ly
Finding new leads on social media can be a frustrating and time-consuming task. Google Chrome add-on Discover.ly aims to change that by revealing more information about somebody and who they are connected to when you visit their profile on a social media network. On LinkedIn, for example, visiting a person’s profile will bring up a pop-up window that shows who that person is connected to on LinkedIn, in addition to Facebook and Twitter. It’s a simple yet ingenious way of quickly finding new leads without having to navigate your way around individual networks.

✓ OptinMonster
OptinMonster is a lead generation software tool that makes it easy to capture, share, and manage marketing leads. It provides high-converting mobile-friendly forms and uses behavior detection rules to find success. integrates with major email marketing and CRM platforms, and you can set advanced targeting rules for marketing campaigns – from page-level targeting (running campaigns on different pages, targeted to page content) to OnSite Retargeting (creating special offers and promotions for returning visitors). It’s also possible to target campaigns by location, activity or inactivity, and by device type.

Lee Vickers

Creative Director - Skein

✓ Wistia
Reason for recommendation: The way Wistia works for lead capturing involves gating videos after a certain time period. At this point the visitor is prompted to submit their email in order to continue watching. With Wistia, the potential of existing contents can be fully maximized, as videos for example are useful as a lead generation tool, in addition to being a brand building channel.

✓ Survey Anyplace
Reason for recommendation: Survey Anyplace has the potential to add fun and engagement to the lead collection process. That, plus Survey Anyplace integrates smoothly with existing marketing stack, thus making it easy to transport leads to a CRM or email marketing tool for nurturing purposes. Answers provided during quizzes can also be used to personalize follow ups.

✓ Clearbit
Reason for recommendation: Clearbit is helpful if and when there’s a need for a quick and efficient way to enrich contacts profile data (company size and industry, for example). It is also possible to transfer these information to CRM records, products, or anywhere else they might be needed.

Stefan Smulders

CEO - Expandi

✓ LeadQuizzes
One of the best lead generation tools that I’ve tried out is called LeadQuizzes. It lets you create a quiz which your potential customers can take and get results to find out more about themselves.

The topics are various, depending on your industry and niche. For example, real estate agents often create quizzes such as “What is your ideal type of house” and it works really well. The catch is, the lead can’t get the results until they send you their email address. Of course, the success you have with this type of lead generation tool depends on how good your quizzes are. You have to get the right questions and answers, and of course, the right kind of outcomes and then tie all that to the offer that you make at the end. It’s a lot of work but the lead capture rate can be amazing compared to other types of lead gen tools and methods.
